TORSO

I created this work to express the aesthetic value of a sculpture based on the motif of a body part. The purpose this three-dimensional structure was to understand human body and give alterations in multiple sides of the sculpture. My idea sketch combining the yoga pose with ears was picked by the professor despite the team project. The unique form is not just to be one single chunk but also to express the dynamic side by splitting and combining the sides using lines. As clay enabled to express the delicate lines, the alterations became more dynamic. We made this structure with a big scale of Iso-pink materials, and used clay in the completion step.
